gAttach v1.2008.7.7

gAttach! allows you to easily attach files to new messages in Gmail or Google Apps Mail. All the features available in Windows that were once only available to your desktop mail-using friends are now available to all Gmail users.

What can it do?

With gAttach!, you can:
send emails directly from:
Windows Explorer

Adobe Acrobat
Windows Live Photo Gallery

automatically attach files from your PC to a new email without manually uploading each file;
choose to suppress the annoying standard text provided by Windows ("Your attachments are ready to send..");
handle "mailto" email links in web pages.

Are there any limitations?

Not of any note! Due to some historical issues with Microsoft's mechanism for sending emails, you might run into a few problems sending a file attachment whose filename is in a different alphabet to the one you use normally (e.g. your computer uses English but you're sending a Russian attachment), but this won't affect 99.9% of people!

Gmail does not allow you to send more than 20MB of files, encrypted Zip files, or even Zip files containing applications (.exe files). gAttach! will not circumnavigate these restrictions.
What do I need?

You just need a Gmail account and a PC running Windows 2000, XP, 2003 or Vista. The software requires something called the .NET Framework 2.0, though you most likely have this installed already. If you don't, you'll be asked to download it.
How does it log into my Gmail account?

gAttach! works in cooperation with Internet Explorer:
If you're already logged into Gmail via Internet Explorer, gAttach! won't ask for any login details.
If you're not logged in via Internet Explorer, gAttach! will show you a mini web browser to ask for your login details. gAttach! does not monitor or record your login details; it merely checks to see if you're already logged in and takes you to Google if you're not.

If you have any concerns, it is recommended that you log in to Gmail via Internet Explorer before attaching files. Make sure you choose the "Remember me on this computer" option. gAttach! will then never ask for your details.
